Default Carbon fiber dash we made from our plates. No 56K

This is the dash that's going in Joe Housley's racecar next season. It's not quite installed but this gives you a good idea. The top is water jet cut with a windshield curve and the length was 59" before we cut it down. We're just toying with the idea if selling this as a kit. Very simple, lightweight and stiff. Similar to the Jegs aluminum dash. We are also going to throw a red piece of plastic under the cut logo for fun. The best thing about this is you can make it fit in most racecars. We would probably ask $400 for the kit. It would include a custom 110 degree bent curved L bracket with predrilled holes and black painted rivets or countersunk machine screws.

FYI: since you have to trim the carbon to fit you will probably have enough carbon to fill in both sides as well.

Here are some pics:

I like that idea, but how would I cut out that curvature for where it meets the windshield?

Well you could cut it with a dremel but if we made the kit you would get it with the curve water jet cut out. You would get two pieces precut and a bracket and black rivets to hold them together.

Scrap? I don't follow... $400 for a pre-fabbed carbon fiber dash that just bolts in. I wouldn't say that is too much to pay. Carbon fiber prepreg material and skilled fabricators cost a grip. We sell really nice carbon plates with a perfect surface finish. All you have to do with this is bolt it up plus cf dashes aren't all over the place.

Its a CNC water jet that shoots a .040" stream of water at 55,000 psi and can cut through 7" of granite. It cuts perfectly with no fiber fraying. Thats mostly due to the high compaction of our autoclave. This is not wet layup.

92-95 Civic

Since it comes in a 59" length you could probably make it fit in any car.

I can attest to that; I have a sunroof plug sitting right here and it is remarkable

Huhh? What else would you use? Fiberglass... We use prepreg because its lighter and you get better compaction in an autoclave i.e. our resin content is less than 34% How would you get a lighter/stronger part part? Prepreg is good enough for F1 but not you. Gimmie a break
