I know this isnt the right forum but I cant post in General so I was hoping someone could move it from here to there?

Got a Vivitar 2.0 MP digital camera for practically free but when I insert the installation disc it does a few things without me touching it and begins the setup but stops and gives me this error.

"Error Number 0x80070725

Description: Imcompatible Version of the RPC stub.

Setup will now terminate"

SO Ive tried a few times and restarted my comp and still get the same thing. Is there any way to trouble soot this problem or a way to install the driver a different way.

Im not a huge computer guy but I can get around. Just looking for help, thanks

Try the manufacturers tech service. They can probally help you out more.

 

Go to the manufactureres site and download the latest version of the software for your operating system. If you are getting an rpc error you may be trying to install an nt/2k/xp version on a 9x/me version of windows.

This is just a guess though.

 

ya I did that the ay I made the thread. They gave me the 3 hours run around with non english speaking reps with HORRIBLE technical advise, oone of the middle eastern woman actually suggested I FORMAT my hard drive AHAHA, click

 

Forget the drivers.

If you have windows 2000 or xp, maybe ME also, try plugging it in. Most cameras show up as cameras, or a hard drive in windows explorer.
