3500 a year. I'm listed as a part time driver on three cars, one of them being the R. I have no points on my record. AAA full coverage.
I pay about 1450/yr comprehensive 250 deductible for my Type R in Vancouver BC (pop >2.5 million for GVRD)
My 2001 Grand Cherokee is about the same
Provincially regulated public insurance rocks

apparently!
my insurance is just under 1,900 a year, for 2 cars - 99 Tacoma and the R.. Full coverage, 1k collision deduct, $500 comp deduct, and middle of the road limits(not the highest, not the lowest).. and I've got 1 point, a total loss accident that was my fault, and a total loss on my 1st R getting stolen..
i don't truly live in an "urban" area.. but I am smack dab in between two major ones - aka the megalopolis of DC/B'more..

Those who are putting their cars on other people's policies should beware of two things:
1. If you experience a claim - and remember, that's why you have insurance, so you can collect if you have a claim - it's possible that the insurance company can deny the claim based on providing false information to them.
2. In the event of a liability claim - say, someone gets hurt in an accident and sues your pants off - the liability extends to anyone whose name is on the policy. So, for example, if you're on your parents' policy and someone gets hurt, they can sue your parents. And win.
Just something to consider.
As far as prices, shop around. You can get prices on-line (even if you haven't bought the car yet) from websites like insure.com and insweb.com

That's funny as hell. My insurance here in Metropolis of Raleigh, North Cackalackabumfuck is gonna be $470 every six months, full coverage, State Farm. I've been driving 8 years (got licence at 17) with no tickets or wrecks. BTW, this is what it will be next week when I pick up my second Type R. I changed my username kinda prematurely ( bad karma?).

BTW, your avitar is bad-***.
To the NY guys, if my insurance company's premium was $6500 or more (or half that!) I'd get on the mountain bike for free. That's highway robbery!
