Should I get the cat with the swap?
I'm gettin a 01 gsr swap soon and dropping it into my 00 ek dx. I'm pretty sure they are going to charge me extra if I want them to include the cat. Do you guys think I should get the cat? or is it going to be useless anways on my swap?

I'm not sure whether or not you would want to run an aftermarket cat. I have a Carsound on my 91 CRX with B18B1 and it's got a raspy buzz to it, so I'm switching back to my 00 GSR cat very soon, sounds much better with it.
If the cat is only a little extra like $20 or so I'd go ahead and get it. You'll need one regardless since your DX has a header mounted cat which will be eliminated after you do the swap.

I'm not sure about in Mass., but here in California, junk yards are not allowed to sell used cats. I'm not sure how much the law is enforced however.

If they can include it for like 10-20 bucks or for free then it wouldnt hurt to get it. If its considerably more then that I'd just get a oem replacement or a highflow replacemetn.

Your also in mass huh? in western mass, the cops hate rice rockets and will do anything to stop our cars and just write all sorts of happy things on our citations. how is the situation there? and ya it is illegal to sell a used cat, b/c it is never a sure thing in what condition the cat is in.

If the supplier is near you and you can go in and talk to him; try saying that you need the cat just so that you can fit the exhaust system long enough to get to a shop. It may work.
