Default red out taillights using transparent vinyl

found this cool diy

http://performance.clubrsx.com....html

anyone know where i can find some of this transparent vinyl?

i've tried doing the "testor's transparent candy apple red"... worked well for a couple months, but in the summer it faded like a grip.

I blacked out my tail light and headlight during my rice day..they fade under the sun too, just give it sometime and it would even crack, the best paint is that the sticky glue would come out

so much for painting taillight

Just wait til the vinyl starts fading, it'll turn pink....

you can order from a 3m distrubutor.

the vinyl is called Scotchlite Electrocut Film 1100 series. run a search on there website to get the part number for the red.

I've checked on the prices for a roll before, around 100 bucks. So if you have the time and find the interest, do like the other people on ebay and sell it for 10 bucks a foot.

I've used this stuff for over 2 years now with no signs of fading or cracking. And i'm pretty sure the author of that diy is using the same stuff.

btw, i got my stuff from pit crew in san gabriel, ca. check your local window graphis people if they have any.

My friend did his using oracal.com's transparent vinyl. I believe they give free samples of their vinyl (only red which is perfect in your case and enough to do the taillights on a RSX). It isn't hard to do at all, and I have yet to see it fade (been around 6 months now). I also blacked out my taillights with their transparent vinyl (grey in color) and it turned out pretty well.

Paint and clearcoat them with the Stained Glass red from Michael's. Looks more uniform.
