ok my vtec isn't working i have tried and tested everything. i did my swap with motor and couple ecus that i know work fine. at the same time i also installed a '00 si cluster. i used to have a gsr cluster which i wired in and it worked fine along with a ls/vtec motor. well...the si cluster works fine in all aspects and the motor drives very good. there is just no vtec. i am not getting any codes.
for anyone who has done this '00 si cluster swap and had working vtec, was there anything special you had to do with any of the wires specifically with the vss and speedo wires? they are two different wires on the '00. on the cx i noticed that there was only a speedometer wire going to the cluster. on the functions of the '00 cluster, there is a speedometer and a vss wire. i believe i just matched the speedo wires and the speedometer and trip and odometer worked. none of those worked when i hooked up the cx speedo wire to the vss wire. i can't seem to get any info or diagrams on how i need to wire from the vss to cluster to ecu or if that matters. i have a feeling this could be the cause of vtec not switching. i tried just unplugging the cluster and vtec still didn't work. any insight and time given would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

nothing was wrong...it was working all along. the switch is just very faint because i don't have a straight through muffler and a aftermarket intake or filter.
thats coo u got it to work. do u gots any pics or any wiring table on how to do that? I'm plannin to do that too on my hatch but wanna know how hard thats gonna be?

well i thought it was gonna be as cake as the gsr cluster, but...no. took me a while to power the cluster and lights. i had to figure out what to do with the three power wires from the civic cluster harness. in the si cluster, there is one power wire i believe. i just ran the ignition wire and left the other two taped up. everything else matches by function. the vss is not ran to anything. the speedo wire is the only one you have to hit to make the speedometer/odometer/trip work. it's bracketed in and looks really good. everything functions and i even have the needle lights. i just used merrit j's diagrams (merritr.com). thanks merrit.
