well i put in the DOHC ZC today, i picked up for 300 bucks.. and i had the 2 white wires reversed at first but switched them around and it started right up.. i took it out for a spin, and got on it.. in the higher RPMS the check engine light came on.. then it started acting wierd.. i could hear the Main Relay clicking on and off.. with the check engine like comeing on with it.. drove it back home.. and figured i'd tackle it tomorrow with a fresh start its been along day.. anybody have any idea's of what it might be? 2 things i've noticed..
1.. the cly position sensor on the exhaust cam.. was off.. so i put it back on.. do i need to time this? it does have some movement like the distributor. If so how do i do that?
2.. the timing marks on the cam's are very strange.. the 2 middle ones i got lined up to the head.. but then the 2 outer lines would be off.. if i lined up the outer ones the inner ones were off??.. so i left it with the 2 middle ones lined up. Is this right?

Other then that everything went pretty smooth.. the car felt real pokey tho.. i guess cuz its not running right??.. i hope this motor gets better.. cuz right now it feels like my old Si engine could pull harder.. and that thing was smoking bad due to worn rings..

All in all, i'm happy i got the motor in.. it looks mean.. but i wish it would have ran better.. i wasn't surprised at all.. someone help me out.

right place at the right time.. i was going to order one from my local import shop my friend goes to.. and before i could ask we walk in and he says know anyone who needs a DOHC ZC?.. i was like you have one?
turns out some kid totaled his CRX and wanted to put his ZC in his Del Sol.. but they told him not to cuz it would be worth it.. he ended up getting another swap and let the shop keep his ZC as a core.. so i got it for cheap.. pretty good deal.. just hope its worth it
