Default Some spy photos of my Dpr head.

If anyone remembers I bent all my valves on my r motor so I sent it to Dpr for a custom stage 6 job. These photo's are of the almost complete head. ( still needs the valve job and some minor other stuff ) . We welded the combustion chambers up like a gsr to create a better quench area and raise the cr(12.1) . Please feel free to give me your opinions but I dont need to hear people trashing Dpr(I've heard it all and I dont care) so keep the criticism constructive please.
Before

after

So what do you think???????

Dan P. sold DPR a couple of years ago. Not sure to whom, maybe the bald headed guy you mentioned.

is he flowmatching the head to your cams?

make sure the intake manifold port is smaller than the intake port for reversion purposes.

there's debate as to whether the surfaces on the ports should be that smooth.

I take it you are doing his stage five head and C intake valves. remember that those thinner stem N/A valves cannot withstand nitrous.

btw how much is he charging you these days?

I have a dpr stage 5 done before the coup attempt and C intake valves/B exhaust valves milled 20 thousandths with a port matched intake manifold-head intake port and flow matched for Toda Spec A cams.

live and learn...I'm just passing on to you what I've learned since...p/m me and we can talk...

cheers

Default (Michael Delaney)

just a question Michael Delaney.

Who can I call that ports heads for Honda's who actually flowmatches the head to your cams?

I am interested in that...because nobody I know does that...

That is good, I will talk to him.I would like to know who Michael Delaney knows that matches porting flow to cams.

And I would like to call that shop. Michael seems to have some knowledge in import stuff, and i would like to know who he says does this process. I await his reply.

Dan Paramore (or at least at that time, when I had my DPR head done, his employees: Al Vasquez) flowbenches the heads and we discussed the cams used . The head was flowmatched to Toda cams. At that time, Todas were not all that popular. I think Shawn Church was one of the first to use a DPR Stage 6 head flowmatched to Toda Spec A's (all motor). If you go to the integra dyno page website his dyno of that car back in the mid 90's is still there. mid 190 whp..very impressive back then. Unfortunately some idiot stole that car.

It's too bad you don't know anyone who flowmatches a head to the cams. If you do a search here, under my name, I have already given one example of how to calculate the necessary flow numbers required.

I thought you were pretty advanced about these sort of things...this is pretty basic stuff.

For some odd reason, I sense a bit of hostility between the 2 of you.

I should have specified.

Nobody I know does that with every customer, for every head.

And running basic calculations is fine, that is all too easy. But I am still waiting for some phone numbers who do this for their headwork.

DPR is one, thats fine. But I do not use them. Not for any particular reason.

Hey Michael Delaney...you have a name and phone number I can call man?

You seem to avoid my question and throw personal attacks at me telling me I don't know basic stuff.

Your the one who brought up matching air flow to cams...now please, back up your post and let me know who you deal with personally, that does this. And please, list a few that you are SURE do not do this.

So I start the list...

People that DO flowmatch:
#1 DPR
People that DO not:
??

Can you help fill out this list Michael Delaney? Without any attacks please. We are grown ups. Who do you know?

Dan is the man. He's helped me a lot, and is still currently helping me. Of course he wouldn't have to help me if I would stop ******* up my car and destroying his work in the process. But seriously, his worked looked good, can't say how good it worked because I haven't used it long enough. But he's helped me through a lot when he certainly didn't have to. And I didn't ask for it, he offered it.

Is that only a two angle grind on those valves? How much is this little hog job costing you? What do you expect for bottom end response? Do you really thing we are being watched from space? Oops wrong forum for that one..

Actually Shawn Church was the second person to have a Stage VI head with Spec A's. I was the first as far as I know. I then recommended the cams to Shawn. Dan's work is impeccable. He is the only person I would ever send my head to and his results have broken many speed records at Bonneville.

He said at the beginning of his post that the valve job had not yet been completed (which you would have known had you not just looked at the pictures.)

Yes Dpr is open for business ( hence the quality work you see above ) and yes it is Dan p who is doing the work. Look in my sig for his contact info or just call him @ 1-310-523-4074.
As for my bottom end, it's a 2001 r bottom with spoon jdm itr pistons. (which were put in the day I bought the short block from Naples)
