couldnt ya use a relay to make the vtec stay on?

only downside i see to that would be loosing oil pressure at idle. or low rpms

You should really ask this question in FI or AllMotor. You will get more help there.
BTW, it is done by changing the shafts that slide inside the rockers. No chance of failing that way

Make a pin that fits in all three rockers. Use steel.

or lose some of the rotating mass by eliminating the center lobe and vtec rocker all together. just run big primary lobes.

A simple way to lock out the v-tec is to put 3 washers the size of the rockers into the holes where the pins go. You will still need to run the pins. Its hard to explain on the computer ........Any other info Please call us at 310-328-5514 ask for Jon

After you put the washer in just switch the pins around so they all lock. However I would suggest against this, because it really makes it hard to set the valve lash and I think that it is not worth it unless you have cams with no primary lobes. We ran this way for about a year and the only thing I saw was increased wear on the valvetrain. If you can get custom cams then you can have someone make your primary lobes the lift that you want and remove the secondary lobe and the middle rocker. That way you can still adjust your lash properly but you have a lobe on each valve.

This process is done with our v-tec eliminator cams that use the center lobe only.So there is no wear on the componets. Your problem may have occured if you just locked out the v-tec and didnt have custom cams.We have been doing this process for a few years now. 10 sec all motor proven

i havent researched it much, so im kinda ignorant to it, but why are vtec disengaging cams all that wonderful? ynot just run those huge lifts with other vtec lobes, would that not benefit more, what are the physics behind the idea of these?

The proper way would be to use a set-up like Crane with one lobe per valve and no center lobe.

ToMATO , tomaato..... regardless of what you guys think, i personally have used and seen the RS MACHINES KIller cams, they work really good. A guy named Eddie ran a 10.XX with them, and his set up was pretty simple too... I had them on my car, mildly built, and i ran 11.77 untuned in a EG SI hatch... John from RS would kow the most about these cams becuase ive dropped by their shop a few times and they have been doind research on it for awhile now, i think they got it pretty dialed in....... we used Crower 63413 cams with the VTEC locked and found significant wear on the rockers and the cams...not to say it doesn't work, because it did, just stating that there is evidence of wear when locking.

Can you just use an LS head with a port job and big *** cams on it? Wouldn't this work, because basically you're just eliminating the VTEC switchover.
