Need some advice on racing seats and harness for a big guy
I am not a small guy, I go about 5' 9" and carry my share of girth. I want to add recaro style seats and harnesses in the next month or two to my DA9. So I was hoping some of you other big guys could help me out and let me know what works for you. This car is still a daily driver, but is moving more and more towards being used only for SCCA type events over the next summer or two.
I am looking for something with good side bolstering obviously, and some adjustability since I still have to drive the car everyday, a real racing seat just wont do yet. Also have to make consideration for the big guy factor, I have to be able to fit. And of course I want the seats to last and not be cost prohibitive.
Thanks, I appreciate any insights anyone has, this is my first time really getting into seats.

I think it was wither Import Tuner or something this month has a nice 4 or 5 page spread of all the different seats out there. They compare price, weight, construction, etc and provide a nice picture of each. Check it out at your local bookstore....
I was going to suggest an EVO 2 or 3 depending on size but after reading that you want adjustability I"m not sure what would be best. I'm not familiar with brands other than Sparco and would be hesitant to tell you to buy a set of Torino's if you couldn't first sit in them and see how they fit you..... Do you have a local Sparco dealer?

Check out somewhere that sells Sparco seats...I am almost positive they make a seat that is made for a person over 200 lbs. I'm not speculating as to how big you are, but, I know they make a seat that is designed for larger people. Maybe they'll have something that suits your needs.

hey, here is a link from Sparco's website that will open a PDF and help you choose the right seat. Good luck.

Just as a suggestion, I would be especially careful about harness selection and use on a car without a cage.
Edit: Although you didn't actually state that the car has no rollover protection, so this might not apply to you.
