Default B18c1 cost?

How much would a usdm 95 B18c1 with 100,000 miles cost? Friend just bought the gsr not too long ago and it was babied by former owner until he got a hold of it (just drives it hard most of the time). But it still pulls really hard and healthy still. He's planning on replacing it with a modified $4000 ls/vtec that's been blueprinted and built up for carrying on it's purpose. So he said he'd sell me the motor stock gsr motor for about $2500. Is this a fair price? Help a brother out and don't ask me to search b/c I did. Thanks

its not a b16, 800 for the motor? you kids are nutjobs, even a bit beaten on, with 100k the motor could go for more. Just the motor, i would say 2k is good, without anything else

he's not going to give me the transmission. He will give me everything else though. You think $1300 okay then?

Next time be more specific in your original thread so yu can get a better answer.

What kind of car does he have? Do you have an Integra? How much did he pay?

Since hes going Ls/vtec im going to assume hes keeping Ecu, Axles(duh), Wiring harness right?

How about you tell us EXACTLY what hes giving you and we can answer your question.

Did a search and full gsr swap(axles/shift linkage/ecu/wiring harness) with around 100k goes for just over $2500 or around there.

Sorry if I wasn't specific enough. I don't know whats happening and I was just wondering what the cost of a gsr engine without tranny would be. I own a 94 RS sedan. He paid $8000 for his 95 gsr with almost 100,000 miles on it. He has had the car for only about four months, if even that. Before he bought it the car was never driven hard, I'd assume, and was well maintained. I assume he will be giving me his gsr ecu, wiring harness and etc. Is it necessary to have the gsr axles since I have a teg? Well, that's about all the assumptions I can make for now. Pretty much I'm sure he is giving me everything that is needed for the swap except the gsr tranny which I am getting from the person he's buying the motor from. Thanks

Im sorry but your friend got ripped off. 8,000 is way too much for a 95 GSR. The blue book price for a 95 GSR is 6,500. Anyways 2,500 w/o the tranny is pretty damn expensive for a high mileage motor. I say at most for everything besides the tranny is 1,100.

thanks alot for the estimate. yeah I know it was a little too much. On eof my friends found a 94 gsr sedan in pretty good condition and babied for about $5,300 with about 75,000 miles. Pissed me off. lol

come on my friend is like my best friend and he'd never rip me. He didn't know how much a 100k gsr motor would run so he asked if $2500 sounded good and I told him I'd ask around to see. He didn't make the offer final he just asked me if that was a reasonable price. I'm sure he'll readjust his price to a more reasonable price. Forget to add that the clutch also needs replacing and 100k big tune up not done. $1000 sound like a deal?

just cuz you bought a motor with 230k don't go defending this high mileage motor to justify your purchase.

wingdome=fired in kent.
