Default Which way does coolant flow?

Into the top of the radiator, or into the bottom?

It's sucked into the motor from the bottom of the rad. Heat rises so the coolest stuff is at the bottom of the rad. It goes right from the lower rad hose to the water pump and pumped through the block then out the top rad hose to the radiator and all over again.

Hope that helped

yes, thanks, that helps and makes sense, I should have figured that out myself DOH!

Now another question.

If the TOP radiator hose is bulging(pressure buildup?), what would that indicate to you? Could it just be a weak hose, or blockage somewhere(thermostat)?

The hose is either crimped somewhere or it is collapsing.

hmmmm that kinda throws me off. I dont see any crimps anywhere in the hoses, and its not collapsing, it looks more like its gonna EXPLODE and the overflow tank is full to the rim

You would think the Helms would have some kinda trouble shooting for this...but I cant find it if there is any.

It sounds like the hose just plain failed, nothing more.

Ooooor, you could have a blown head gasket and are pumping air in the coolant system maybe do a leekdown if you can't figure anything else out.

yeah Im sure the hose is shot, but wouldnt fluid still circulate the system even if its bulging some? The car begins to overheat and Im thinking blockage somewhere. Fan still works but doesnt seem to come on when getting hot...

remove the RAD cap ( When its cold!) and run the motor. Rev it up, if coolant blows out the top more than 4 inches in the air... HEADGASKET.
