SH owners with GC/Koni setup! a few Qs, lease read.
Ok, im ready to get a GC/Koni setup but I just have a few questions after searching the archived stuff.
I know if I get the konis and GCs at the same time there won't be a fitment issue on the spring, but what about the perch? I know that the SH spring perch sits 20mm lower than the base model, but does that mean that I need the Neuspeed version which is 20mm shorter? bc I don't plan on lowering the car more than 1 inch, and I'll probably even raise during winter.
Also, there were a few issues reported regarding the inside of the spring rubbing the threads on the collar. How can that be fixed? I didn't find any concrete answers for that except for a few things about cutting dust boots - are these stock?
And another thing is the dust shields not working with the bushings provided. What do I have to buy to fix that? New honda dust shields or what?
And finally, what about bump stops? I've heard different things on whether these come with the kit or if I have to get them separately.
Anyway, thats about it. I'm just concerned whether this combination will prove to be problematic, so if anyone using this setup on their SH could give me their input I'd appreciate it. TIA

Ground control will give you all the extra hardware you will need to make the konis fit on the SH. The sleeves are different from if you were to use the coilovers with stock springs. Just let them know you have an SH and they will take it from there.
Konis + GC =
Konis + GC =
And i have no rubbing or scrapiong what so ever. The installation is easy and fast, if you have some mechanincal knowledge. The bump stops come with the kit too. Everything you need.
cool thanks. I know this is OT, but what mods do you have to get 181 whp? I sent you a PM a while back but maybe you didn't get it.
AEM CAI
Greddy EVO
AEM Pulleys
DC Header
VAFC
Yeah i though your PM was one of those pop ups...so i quickly got rid of it before i noticed it was a PM, my bad.

from what i know and researching as well as calling million and one stores, shops, etc. they all said it can't fit. even if you get the GC i was told it wont matter, you can't put shocks because they dont make any for the SH. only way you can go is the JIC's or Tein. by the way, why is 181 whp impressive for an SH?
Who ever told you that Konis/GC wont fit on an SH is a
. I would know cause i have the set up. All you need is the special sleeves that you get from GC to fit with the Konis. If your using GC with stock shocks, its a different sleeve. Konis and STOCK springs will not work. But if you go with both GC and Konis, it will fit fine.

they are both the same konis for the base and SH, but on an SH you just have to change springs as well and not just shocks or it to work. And 181 is impressive with those mods bc most type SHs put down ~161 stock, like mine
