b18c swap in ek
ci9v7ic,
I'm about to do a d-series auto swap to a B16A2 5-spd. Did you have to cut any holes in the floor board? Patch any holes in the floorboard? I've read a lot of articles of people having to cut out the automatic shift cable bracket, etc.
BTW, looks good.

Nice, looks good from at least that pic. How'd the auto to manny go?? I have a 98 EX auto that I was planning on swapping to manual, but really didnt want to go through the hassle of tranny changeover.

the whole swap took about 9 hrs. the only problem converting auto to manual was the housing where the auto shift cable went through the floor. i had to remove and patch it because the shift linkage hit it. also had to connect the two large wires on the shifter so the car would start. then the key wouldnt come out so i removed the mechanism in the steering column that retains the key when not in park. overall it was very easy. if you do this swap, i recomend an ex engine harness, and obd-2 jdm computer because the jdm computers dont require a crankshaft position sensor and its plug and play, no obd2 to 1 jumper harness. the car is completely different. the v-tech hits very hard . the car rips nasty. very nice upgrade!
I see you kept your AC and PS right?
Did yo modify the brackets by any chance, with the compressor (D) fit b engine?
i got 99 ex 5spd, and got an itr engine, and i dont really care about PS, but i gots to keep the AC
give me some detaisl on that man, thanx

ci9v7ic,
Thanks for the response.
I'll crawl under my car to see if I need to cut out the shift cable housing. I'm hoping that I won't have to, but it sounds like I might.
Would it be possible for you to take pics of the shifter with the center console and shift boot removed?

it all looks the same as the five speed from the top but underneath is where the modifying takes place. you also have to drill holes for the shift linkage to bolt in.

yes the del sol dohc vtec a/c bracket lets u bolt a single cam a/c compressor to it. if u know what your doing or the shop they should be able to do the swap without even discharging the ac. I think the bracket is around $130 from honda.
