Valve cover tube to intake box (DC5)
The tube that comes out of the valve cover (wrapped around the coolant line) I would like to know if it is ok to just run the coolant lines straight and have the hose go directly to the intake box, bypassing that green tube completely.
Does anyone know if this should be ok?
Thanks in advance,

I don't think there would be a benefit. But it does'nt make sense the valve cover tube would have a coolant pipe wrapped around it going to the airbox
I think what you're talking about is the crankcase vent tube which attaches to the top of the stock air box (or to a SRI or CAI intake pipe after the air filter). A coolant tube wraps around the mid section which I believe keeps the tube warm in very cold weather preventing blow by gas from condensing in the tube. The other possibility is Honda purposely builds in useless complexity to generate revenue for their dealers (nah).

I've seen two options, 1. Vent to atmosphere with a K&N type filter replacing the tube going to the air box. 2. Oil catch can, the Greddy @ $80 is JDM bling, I'm getting that even though I don't need it on a N.A. motor. Agreed, the install on the Mugen air box required shortening the OEM vent tube and I still wrestled with the damn thing.
