I didn't know "paddock" tiks were that (relatively) cheap (compared to $1000).
Have fun at the track, then enjow the race(s) on TV.
(i.e., live on ABC, then taped delay w/in-car video on SV)

I hate you! I wanted to go, but waited too long and couldn't find lodging. Oh well, have fun and take lots of pictures

 

I cant wait either!! Im driving my wife and coworkers nuts.
We are in the Paddock Press Penthouse, right past the start/finish line. We got really lucky on the ticket lottery last year to get these seats!



We took over 1000 pictures last year, we will prob do at least 2x that this year. Ill try and post some of the better ones.

 

DAMN! You are lucky, Jetydosa! I mailed my ticket renewal form the day after last years race while I was still in Indy, and I am way up in the "nose bleed" section right above start/finish line! Are you going to be there Friday or Saturday?

Jeremy, we'll be there fri-sunday. Actually we got the tickets when we first ordered in late 1999 (for last years race) I think it was. You know how you have first choice, 2nd choice, etc...well we picked 2-3 places we'd like to sit, and then just as a joke we decided our last choice would be these expensive tickets, and thats what we got! So of course we renewed them for this year.

If anyone has any leads on hotel rooms, please fill me in. I'm off that week and I'd love to go. I went last year and it's even worth the drive for me if I go this year. So I just need a room, lol.

I ordered this actual team shirt from the Jordan website a couple of months ago. I was a tiny bit disappointed, because it was supposed to be a last years team shirt. But it is actually a very early 2001 (pre) season shirt. It is last years shirt but it has the Honda patches instead of the Mugen ones. So if you see a guy in a team shirt with Mike on it, its actually Jeremy!

 

I can't wait either. I'll be arriving on Friday afternoon.

 

Tower Terrace rules... I'm defintely renewing my tickets for next year (hopefully to get better seats). And yes, I too will be wearing my Jordan team shirt (last years shirt)... So if you guys see a Navajo Indian wearing a ITR t-shirt (2 different ones) Fri & Sat... that would be me. Cheers!!!

Super*: those aren't horns...it's part of the 2001 Championship Ferrari airbox..they already won the championship. just an odd camera angle and out of focus so it looks like horns coming out of Schumi's helmet. I didn't notice it til you mentioned it.
I thought it was a pretty cool pic taken just before the Italian GP at Monza.

you'll notice that in Italy that Ferrari painted the nose black and took off all their sponsorships out of respect to the victims of the tragedy. Schumacher actually did not want to race.

 

gotta love the flag on the side of Alesi's Jordan Honda EJ11. Kick *** Jean!
