Default H23A Vtec (from 99 Accord SiR-T) NOT hybrid..

I'm thinking about getting this engine and pairing it up with either H22 LSD transmission or my stock H23 one for a swap in the future... then putting a P13 ECU to it ...

Does anybody know the CR of the pistons in this engine ?? Also, the H23A is ODB2, if im putting this up to an ODB1 ECU what may need to be changed?

Anybody else criticize this to an easy route to get H23 Vtec (low tq. with vtec of H22 ?? ) BESIDES all of the regular assumed downsides to it ? (ie high revving will snap the cranks, pin bearrings etc.)

You will need ODBI injectors.

That is the peak HP. It doesnt rev like the H22 due to its longer stroke.

PS is short for Pferdestärke. 200ps = 197.26HP

I really think I want to go this route...
Swapping from H23 I need to :

Swap in ODB1 fuel injectors
JDM ODB1 P13 ECU
New Clutch
H22 w/ LSD or my existing H23 Tranny.
Wire up the Vtec ...

I dont think the engine is worth it, but do as you wish.

What are you paying for it?

Pferdestärke is literally "horsepower." It's german. Probably just a little different temp/pressure standards than SAE, but still a bastardization of english and metric.

Me either.

Also, stock H23 compression is 9.8:1

Well ... Its factory built, the same as the hybrid, only no engine work has to be done, .. so for stock form, blue valve cover (wooOo) putting in new clutch, timing belt, water pump etc. onto this and adding a tranny would yield the same as if I were to hybrid ... and its not like im going to rev hard all the time either ... im plenty happy if I stopped at 7200 ..

I should still be able to spank USDM ludes stock for stock and will not loose any torque out of my present config ...

Why do you guys not like the idea of this out of curiosity?

Since it is OBD-II you will need to get an OBD-I dizzy as well as the OBD-II ones are different. If you put OBD-I injectors and a P13 you will most certainly have to remap the fuel curves somehow as well. If you run stock H22 maps it will run rather lean and confuse the hell out of the ECU.

It is a lot of work but could be a lot of fun if done right. Gotta love the H23 torque curve.

So use the distrib off my ODB1 H23
I beleive the fuel injectors are the same.. if not can be found for odb1 H22.
VAFC and a bit of tuning ... and bam, off to the races.

Just have to find a longblock&head for cheapy now..

yeah the H23 VTEC is a much nicer block than the H23 of old. It's open deck and has the larger crank mains...I'd feel more comfortable revving that motor.

But i do know that the H23 VTEC has a really funky distributor on there..you should defintely swap it if you can.
