Default 94 speedometer not working

A friend of mine just bought herself a 94 accord. Im not 100% sure if thats the year, but i know its older. She called me this morning, on all days that i wanted to sleep in and not go to school, to ask me why the "speed thingy"(her words) was not working. I said it might be a blown fuse, or some faulty wires. I havent really worked with accords so im not to sure. Could any one help he out with what could be causeing that problem. I did a quick search but came up short. If i get more time later, ill extend my search but i dont ahve the time right now.

Any info appreciated and if you need any specifics on the car, I.E. the year or make, i can find that out by the end of the day. Thanks H-T

theres a bunch of threads about this, including 1 from me about this...

is it just her speedometer? and all others working?
does it work at all or it gets stuck around a certain range?...

D4 light should be blinking on a auto if it is the vehicle sensor... replace that and her "speedy" things good to go!

if no code or nada, just change the speedo cluster, some h-t people might sell it for a decent price.. brand new or dealer costs WAY too high for a new one!...

Its a 1994 EX. Only the speedometer is not working. Everything else is fine. The check engine light is not on. IT doesnt move at all. It just stays at 0.

Ill check search now that i have the time. Thanks

if you never touched ur cluster before, and the d4 is not blinking, change the speedo... if you did touch it, make sure wirings not loose.. if d4 blinks, its ur vss...

i wish they did up here. its weird the only thing that works is the tach, gas gauge, and temp gauge. everything else is messed up my odometer only works when my speedometer works so i don't know whats wrong.
