Default what exactly classifys your car as a STREET car in nhra/idrc?

Alright right now I am currently in a quest to go for the quikest street del sol with b16 in america which I THINK ran a 11.47 with a b16 on a basically unbuilt motor.

What are rules in making it so your car is considered street?

Like ex: do I have to keep carpet, can I use drag radials, and ect....

and ya I think you can use drag radials but just using it as a example..

Quick Sol, If you go to the NHRA or IDRC web site you can download the rule book. If you join NHRA or IDRC they will send you a actual rule book. Good luck with the car.

FROM MY NEW WEB SITE DEVOTED TO FWD STREET CARS:

nhra fwd forced induction street class
2004

Sportsman Fwd

Sport Fwd is considered a no-electronics class. Delay devices, throttle stops, air shifters, electric shifters, or any device that transmits real-time, on-track data to the driver or any remote location prohibited. All applicable NHRA rules apply based on actual e.t. or per Class Requirements. All vehicles in Sport Fwd must meet or exceed minimum weights. Minimum weights are based on vehicle/engine configuration and include driver. Minimum weight is calculated during tech inspection, and weight sticker is attached to window indicating minimum weight. Weights are verified after a run. All vehicles should be prepared to drive, under their own power, to the scales following a run. Procedures may dictate from time to time that tow vehicles and support personnel are not permitted past the scales. NHRA may, from time to time and in its sole and reasonable discretion, adjust minimum weights in the interest of maintaining a level playing field.
The Sport Fwd class is "heads up" and based on a qualified, 16 car field. Anyone attempting to qualify but failing to qualify for Sport Fwd may run E.T. Bracket eliminations provided notification of class change is received in the tower no less than 1 hour prior to the start of eliminations. Sport FWD runs on a .5-second Pro Tree.

The carbonfiber targa top is not allowed. I wanted to put one on my Sol (Hotrod class) and I was told by NHRA that it is not allowed. The striped out aluminum shell is not all that heavy once the roof attachement devices are removed. Just make the roof a perment piece to the vehicle or dzus it fast.
