? on storing interior parts
I'm thinking of gutting out my car, but I have some ?'s on the storing of parts such as the seats...
I live in HOT, HUMID SOUTH FLORIDA. The only spot in my house that would have to store them is in my attic...now those of you who have been here know how hot it gets in an attic here. In the dead of winter 60 degrees is about as cold as it gets.
Would it be safe to store them in the attic for a long time? i would cover them up (plastic bags, etc) but what would be the best material to use? I don't want them to dry rot, nor do I want them to retain moisture...
I can obtain the little baggies that they make to eat up moisture, so that's not a concern...
I'm sure there are others out there doing some long term storage on them and any experiences would be greatly appreciated...

You might consider renting a "conditioned" storage for mere $20-$40 per month. It sounds like a lot, but it's a lot better than having stuff in your room. I currently have only my driver seat out... it's in my room collecting dust.
Oh yeah, I wouldn't put anything up in the attic... I'm in GA and it probably gets over 100 deg from May-Sept.

I'll keep my interior in my walk-in closet.. I'll have to take a pick of that room.. integ interior, rx7 parts, conquest parts, race tires/wheels, OEM wheels with tires.. lol and some trees hanging around to kill the tire smell.
I have another bedroom in my house that I could use the closet for, but my g/f isn't going to like that too much...especially since I have my OWN computer room, but of course the closet is already filled w/ $#!T

you will need a dehumidifyer, or they will mildew. don't worry do much about the plastic, it will clean up ok, but the seats and carpet will get nasty. i store a lot in my basement, and i have my dehumidifyer running constantly.
Well you should bag them up and keep them covered. Also keep the humidity down to min. Our basement has AC so it stays around 60-70 degrees all yr long. I have collections of books and toys and such that are bagged up and there stored in there own room with temp set just below 70 degrees.
