I just got a Civic VX last night and I noticed how ungodly slow it is compared to my Prelude. What is the best swap on a budget for the car. I have had some ideas that may be ok.

I would like a 1.8 but I dont want to spend the 3500 on the complete GSR swap. I was thinking of buying a 1st gen JDM B16 longblock for like 450 bucks and then getting a GSR shortblock and just swaping the head. That would put me at just under a thousand for the engine itself. Of course I would have to get a transmission and all that.

What is the best way to go on a budget?

 

On a budget, I would just do a B16 change over. Don't bother with the GSR if you don't have the funds.
