I think you will die when you twist the throttle on that 600 and go no where

yeah but from what i know of 944s a race prepared one should leave behind almost all street CBRs but not a trbo bike

944s rule (I wish I had one) but they're not faster than CBRs...

If its a full on race prep 944 with slicks then surely the it would waste the bike in falt out corners, top end maybe it would be down on 170 but CBR's aint that quick past 150 anyhow.

it's apples and oranges to compare the two. on one hand i could keep the race car and say well, I own a racecar or on the other hand I could have something that I could actually take out on the street. argh... i don't know what to do.

my bad on the 944 part i had a picture of an old ducati in my head, but was wrong, 944 is a cool car. Is the car streetable? Have you ever run a quarter mile in it? Do you race it? and s it fun? those are the wuestions you need to ask yourself befor eyou decide
Go for the bike. Why a 600 though? Are you considering a new or used one? The new Honda 954 is coming out in 2002. Its going to be one bad bike. You might look into it.

Another option : get an older 600 such as an FZR or F2 and keep the car as well .
I usually recommend bikes like the EX500 or Seca II to newbies , just as they're easier to handle and aren't as expensive when you drop it . Sure they aren't fast compared to Gixxer 750 etc , but 12 second quarters aren't too bad for $2000 and cheap insurance rates . For some good bike advice , check out http://www.sportbikes.net .

There are a bunch of small differences - the F3 has cartridge forks , floating brake rotors , a bunch of small engine tweeks like cams, pistons and most importantly the addition of air induction ( Ram Air is a Kawi trademark so ya can't really call it that ! ) . The 94 F2 has all the braking and suspension updates of the F3 but no motor changes - its the best buy if you can find one . As an inexperienced rider , you won't be able to tell any difference between the two IMO . In any case , I'd advise a well taken care of 91 F2 over a ragged 96-97 F3 anyday but that goes without saying . F2's are great bikes ,find a clean one and you'll be happy . The only thing to really look for in ALL of the CBR motors is the CCT tends to fail around ~ 12-15K depending upon how hard the bike is used ( think of it as the ignitor on Civics - its a cheap fix but you know its gonna be necessary at some time ! ) . The tensioner will make a rattly noise at idle - its pretty harmless and costs under $100 to fix - other than that , they're very solid bikes . Deffo take someone that knows bikes when you go shopping and check out all the obvious things like fork seals , driveline ,tires etc - theres no point in *getting a deal* if you have to sink another $500 in chain/sprockets/tires !
