my 90 accord is dieing on me. my lates problem is that after i start the car and leat the keys free the car turns off. now if i keep the key with my had the car would not turn off. now i just bought a new key swich but it still does the same ****. what do i have to fix so it won't turn off without keeping one hand at the key swich. thank u

 

you need the ignition switch, the electrical portion. you have the mechanical which is where you put the key, and the electrical which is what actually tells which position the key is in.

 

so i have to take more parts out to go to the electrical part of the swich right? do i have to take off the steering wheel to get to the elecrical part or not?

 

no, just remove the plastic column cover

 

i did that and i bought a new one but now i am having another problem i can't shift from park to drive. its automatic trany. i don't know why does it do that. what whire can i look to fix the problem olso brake lights don't run on when ibrake and the horne don't work. what did i do wrong what can i look to see to fix the problem. help please

 

there's a recall on the 94-97 ignition. i dont know 90 though
