straight friction modified synchromesh
I haven't heard any bad things other than high price, but I got it at employee cost from a friend, so no problems for me.

YES. GM Synchromesh w/ Friction Mod. is one of the best products that I have heard about and now i'm using it. You have to try it to believe it. Everyone in honda-tech.com are agreeing with it and now almost half of them are using it. I'm using it and I found that it was a great investment. I love it.

In my g2 I'm running HMTF now, and it cleared up a grind I used to get in third every now and again...
I still have a slight grind in 5th at high rpms, for about 2 weeks after I
switched to HMTF it cleared it up, but then it came back.
Do you think switching to synchromesh might help? Is it that much better
than HMTF?

Did you fill the tranny w/ the car level? If the front end is raised up, it will start running out the filller hole before it gets enough fluid in there, and if the tranny is underfilled, 5th won't get as much lubrication it needs since it's the last gear on the shaft.

I'm planning on running royal purple with my phantom grip / hydro ls tranny....
perfect synchros and gears... would there be any advantage or disadvantage of choosing this over royal purple?
