My OEM belt was around $60 or so.

Or you could get the Toda belt at three times that price.

has anyone had any experience w/ other brands of belts (besides Toda or PE)?

I hadn't changed mine when I had sold my R, but I have had goodluck w/ Goodyear Gatorbacks on my other vehicles and they were half the price of the OEM ones (w/ lifetime warranty)...

Just a new discussion for once

I had a non-OEM timing belt in my EG way back in the day. I think it was the Goodyear, but I'm not really sure. I never had a problem with it, it was great.

Do you usually replace the water pump at the same time as the timing belt, like on most cars?

I don't know on most cars but on hondas it is usually a GOOD idea to do so.

Is that for thr lifetime of the belt?
I don't believe in "warranties" all that much ... unless it's for hand tools!
