Clutch cylinder issues
Is anyone having issues with clutch cylinder's(master/slave) leaking after installing a strong pressure plate? I've been blowin these out like nothing. So far i've gone thru 2 masters and 1 slave. Is there an aftermarket performance company that makes these?
any info would be great, thanks!

I blew my slave cylinder after that I installed my XTSS. I bought a new one from Honda, which hasn't given me any problems. The one that broke was made out of plastic and the new one from Honda is made out of steel/metal. If you keep on breaking the metal cylinders than I don't know what to say, but if you're using the plastic...upgrade to metal/steel.
Hope it helps.

Yea the ones i've baught recently were from honda. I'm not sure if the 88-91 are plastic or rubber. I'm gonna keep looking for an after market or i'll higher someone to make me one..lol

Well thats your answer. Get a metal/steel cylinder. I'm currently using a 98 accord slave cylinder with a 95 H22. If they don't carry any metal cylinders for the prelude, then take a look at the accord section.

Tokico makes an aftermarket one, dont know how good of quality it is but it lists for about $24 at http://www.nopionline.com
let me ask you a final question. Does your slave cylinder use a roller pin? For example, is the line screwed/turned in, or does it spin on it's own axle? Remember, the accord cylinder uses a roll pin.
I dont know if this is what your refering too but the clutch line bolt spins into the slave cylinder. In other words, the line it self stays still and the bolt spins and tightends into the cylinder.

I see, then you need to get one for a prelude? Look for a used jdm slave cylinder. Mine came with a metal cylinder, but I replaced it with an accord cylinder since I swapped it into an Accord. Look for a metal slave cylinder on ebay, or do a FS, for sale. I'll try to find mine tomorrow, if I find it I'll sell it to you for cheap.

wow, i called honda up and they had no clue on what was what regarding internals and such. they told me, "we dont know about any updates they've done to those parts and haven't seen any letters" i was tossed around like 5 times to different people/departments.
You say 98+ accord, but i looked at them online and they are a bit different. do you know which models would fit and you sure they are metal?

Yeah, they are slightly different. If your getting the accord cylinder, you need to replace the hollow aluminum tube connecting the slave with the master. So your best bet is to get one for the prelude. However, try the JDM since it's solid steel and not made out of plastic.
