91 NSX AUTOMATIC???PLEASE LOOK..
I came across a 91 nsx auto with 93,000 miles for about 17 grand....I have not driven the car yet, but I was just wondering what to look out for????Are the auto transmissions strong???Any info would be great...Thanks
I have never driven one though I'd think that the autos have similiar handling characteristics but with less hp, rated at 252. You'll want to be aware of the usual NSX issues sans the snap ring problem. Coincidentally, the auto was Senna's pick as his driver.
You'll want to go through the used NSX checklist from Prime: NSX Checklist
Good luck!

Only 17k?... be careful... despite the 90k+ miles on it, 17k is very low. Just make sure u look it over carefully so u don't get duped on the deal. It's nice to have an NSX, but maintenance will kill you in the long run if u don't watch out!
Is it salvaged? Could possible be something wrong with it... is the buyer in a bad financial situation that (s)he needs to sell really bad? Hidden problems the seller may not be disclosing? A few things to think about...
By the way, if u don't buy it... let me know who, where, when, and why... hehe!

I actually went for a test ride last night and got to check over the car...The vehicle is at a dealership btw...It was trades in...I guess the reason for the low price is because the car is really starting to show its age....The interior is a little ragged out, it needs tires bad, and the steering makes a screeching noise anytime you turn the wheel just the slightest bit...Also the hvac and bose stereo system were both not working properly....But I did get to drive the car and have to say it was an amazing car...even for being ragged out.....I was also very impressed with the accelaration and the shift firmness of the automatic tranny....The car pulled very strong....From what people were saying, I thought the auto was going to be a dog......I do have a civic that runs 12 flats, and even know this car runs nowhere near that, it still felt very good...........So in conclusion, I still do not have my dream car, but maybe someday I will find a better one, and even know 17k seems real low for an nsx, I would say this one is worth about 13-14k at most.....
Ponyboy I don't believe the automatic had the snap ring problem. Don't know for sure though. I have driven an automatic NSX and it felt like driving an accord. I was not impressed. The noise you heard was probably from the electric assist power steering. Major money to fix.

Obviously, they made them because some people want them. Which is fine. So 9 percent of NSXs have automatic transmissions. If you're one of the 91 percent of buyers who prefer an NSX with a manual transmission, then buy one of the 91 percent of NSXs that have one.
One oft-prescribed bit of advice on NSXprime: If you prefer a car with an automatic transmission, then get one. But if you prefer a car with a manual transmission, don't get an automatic because you hear of a good deal on one. You'll probably be disappointed - and it will be a lot tougher for you to turn around and sell the car, too.
