gsr or prelude
okk..my car is giving out and i need a new car..im poor so dont tell me to go get a damn s2k...either a prelude (5th gen) or a gsr...which one..pros and cons..i know gsr is more likely to get stolen...prelude is rare....less am parts for the prelude..but im not looking to hook up my car...due to my poorness...i need a fast stock car...help ya'll...
You are going to get a lot of biased answers in this forum, since the majority of people that will read this will be an integra owner... Also, what do you plan to do with your car , auto x, drag, etc.??? Decide what you want your goals to be and that should make choosing between the two much easier. Cant go wrong with either though.. You will be better off with a GSR cost wise, and will have some money left over for mods..
Id say integra. From experience, I think its a great ride. More available after-market parts, and with an intake, exhaust, and headers you can cut down like .3-.5 on the 1/4. Stock GSR's run mid to low 15's on the 1/4. So youd be running high 14's to low 15's at the 1/4 with good conditions. I ran last time a 15.2. Also the engine itself is basically set for a turbo. The compression of fuel is fine, that way you wont have to upgrd your pistons and rods to hold a turbo. . Unlike the type R for example, in which its better to go all motor with that car.
Fast, stock car? Hell, get a late model Mustang GT. It'll blow the doors off both of the competitors. Plus it's RWD.
Prelude is a fantastic car for a daily, highway commute. It's much heavier then the Integra, less nimble, but where it lacks on road feel, it makes up for with luxury and better sound dampening.
Why not consider a pre-owned WRX sedan or wagon?

LOL, you're kidding right? My GSR stock was faster than most average modded Mustang GT.
When I was looking into buying another car, I looked into a GSR and Prelude VTEC or Prelude SH. I was almost set on the Prelude SH. However I went and test drove all of them and the GSR is a much more fun car and I have no regrets of not buying the Prelude.
Now I'm looking into Audi
S4 here I come

I was in the same position when i bought my gsr, but they are so close it comes down to what you want to see when you get out your car. I chose the gsr cause it was a little cheaper than the lude, but now that i got it im happy with it my girl has the lude and it is a great car so you wont be disapointed. The plus's about the gsr is that part seem to be easy to come by more then the lude, but the plus to the lude is you see less of them on the road and i feel personaly it looks a little more classy but its up to you performace wise they are very close and you cant say one is faster then the other so it becomes a drivers race. "every one knows you can have a ford festiva and make it fast if you have the cash"
I sold my lude for my GS-R
I liked the GS-R a lot, it more fun to drive and gets better gas milage around town.
I had a 4th gen prelude SI 4ws with a motor swap....it had a ton more torque and felt a lot faster on the highway. BUT, the prelude at about 80mph, is right at 4k rpm. the GS-R is at 4k too, but 4k in a GS-R is a lot less than 4k in a lude
.
Personally Id get a GS-R if you can....more practical (I have a 4 door), better on gas, and just good fun (I love seeing the Tach get all the way around
).
Just my opinion.

What is a lot "less"? Power? What are you talking about? Very confusing.

I think he is saying that in a Prelude at 4k your closer to redline then you are in a GSR. Correct me if I am wrong. GSR redlines at 8100 and a Prelude is around 7200 I believe.
I'd say get the GSR, more fun to drive. Its also less expensive and will save you money. Then, down the road you could mod the car if you wish. Either way you'll enjoy your car, goodluck with your choice

GS-R handles better, Prelude rides better, GS-R is quicker, Prelude is faster... it's all a matter of preference. Drive both of them, and decide from there.

what are the numbers from an older 5.0
