Just undo every bolt to everything that looks like it might get in the way. Headers and intake off first, and fuel line and wiring harness connections. All the coolant lines need to be disconnected and the radiator should be removed for more space to work. Then unbolt the mounts and drop the motor down, or use a cherry picker(engine lift) to take the motor out.

do i need to take off the intake mani or does that come out with it. Dont i need to hook up the hoist before i undo the mounts first? Where do i attach the lift to on the motor?

Hey man. I bought the IC piping from you. Anyways, the intake manifold will come out with the motor. Just make sure the engine is secure by putting the rope(s) underneath the motor to pull it up. Make sure the motor is sitting balanced in the ropes so it won't fall out of the ropes. Just use common sense and everything will be ok.

use tow straps or a chain if you have them. secure them to the mounts on the motor/trans, if you pull from the top, you will need to tilt the motor slightly anyway. just an fyi, i would suggest COMPLETELY draining all the fluids, it makes things a lot easier

If you don't have access to a lift, then I suggest dropping the motor down while the car is on jackstands. Undo the back(triangle) mount first, then front, driver, and tranny side mount last. After you undo the driver side mount, with the back and front mounts already undone, that side of the motor should drop down slightly, and go ahead and undo the tranny mount. The motor should just drop down onto the ground. That's how I got my motor out.

With a lift. I'm saying if you need to take the motor out right away, you could do that and get a lift to put it back in when you get all the wiring and stuff ready.

I would suggest taking some digital pictures before you pull anything/disconnect anything. Good reference.

yes, take the tranny out with the motor. If you are going to drop the motor to the ground then you will need to remove some suspension parts like the radius rod to allow the motor and trans to drop without hitting anything. Although I guess you wouldn't have to remove the radius rod if you're droping the entire cross member with the motor.

finally took it out, it was a bitch. took my *** 6 hours to do it by myself. Axels didnt want to come out either but with some force they did. It was also hard to clear the tranny. oh well, time to sleep.
