ok, i have 2000 gsr w/ a jdm type r header, 2.5 carsound cat and exhaust. well, the other day, the check light came on. assuming that its just a minor glitch, i reset the ecu and the check was off. after 2 days, it came back on and a buddy of mine helped me check for the code and he told me it was either the carsound cat or the O2 sensor was throwing the code. i want to know if there is a way to check to see if its the cat or the O2 sensor that is down b4 i start buying parts for the replacement. anyone have any recommmendation on the replacement parts? thanks

 

What was the code?

 

A cat won't throw a code, only sensors and electronics will. Let us know the code first before you just assume its the cat.

 

6 long blink, 7 fast blink from the check light but can't the cat goes bad and cause the O2 sensor to throw off a code?
