Default Changing pistons

Does changing the pistons require the engine to be re-balanced?

Specifically when moving up to higher compression JDM or better pistons.

Also what are peoples experiences here with different pistons and Toda spec-A,B or spoon cams?

Thanks,

I tend to agree if all aftermarket pistons are balanced to the same weight! But are they?

Either way I'd like to know if people here are having their engines balanced with this type of engine change.

Thanks,

It is recommended that you hone the cylinder walls every time you change
the rings. Also not only should the pistons be balanced, but the rods with
the pistons, as well as the crankshaft so that the entire rotating assembly will be
balanced.

I just installed Endyn Rollerwaves with forged Eagle rods, had the block bored out 0.5mm and had the entire rotating assembly (including flywheel) fully balanced. If high hp, high revving reliability is what you are looking for - then it is definitely recommended.

Thanks guys, this rules out the posiblility of installing these myself!

Does the engine need to come out of the car to balance it? What is involved? Is it generaly very expensive?

Sorry for the questions.. Just trying to get an understanding of the scope of this potential upgrade!

How about ordering completely balanced kits from Toda or Spoon? Anyone have any experience with these?

Regards,
