i have a 2k civic si cd player i want to install in my girlfriends 97 crv
i was wondering if it will just plug right in ?
or would i need to get a 2k civic si plug harness ?

 

i think the plugs stayed the same until honda changed over the civic in 2001. otherwise, all honda radio plugs changed format in 98. you should be ok. have you actually looked at your plug and the back of her radio?

it should. ask if the plug is a rectangle or a square. the older version is more of a rectangle. but, even if the plug isn't the same, it is easy to splice in a new plug. i did on my integra. kenwood was stolen, i put in a double-din cd player from an accord. looks great, gets rid of that damned cubby hole and its factory-looking.

97 crv has old plug, 00 civic has new the plug. you will need Metra 70-1720 and 71-1721 harnesses wired together to make it a plug in deal.

 

where can i get those harness?

 

any stereo shop should have them.
