header/exhaust brand?

header/exhaust brand?
Does anyone know if having the same brand of header and exhaust could affect performance in any way? In particular, a friend of mine claims that if you have a DC sports header, using anything but a DC exhaust will decrease performance (I think it's BS, or he's confusing it with JDM parts).
