Do I need an amp to make Infinity Perfect components sound nice?
I'm looking to get some Infinity Pefect components for my RSX Type S in the front but I want to avoid getting an amp cuz amps are pricing plus the wiring and etc.
Does anyone have this set-up or does anyone know if it'll sound good even if I don't get an amp

haha have fun with the Bose system!
Anyhow, for the information you're looking for, after I sold my old setup for bills, I swapped my Infinity 6x9's for the 6.5" component set. The components are the only speakers in my car as of now, and I currently have them running off of a factory Honda Prelude (1997) deck (the "Acoustic Feedback" one). Doesn't sound bad for a factory sound source putting out what, 15 watts maybe each channel?
My old manager also had the 6.5" components in his 99 Si running off of an Alpine 60x4 deck with the stock 6x9's in the rear for a little more "low end". Actually sounded pretty good.

You do not need an amp, but if you do not have an amp, have a component set like that is purely a waste of money.
My first upgrade to the audio system were my front speakers. I installed Kappa (not Kappa Perfects) 6.5 components in the front. Attached to the stock HU, they sounded good, but I had to turn the volume all the way up to the 12 o'clock position, just for it to be as loud as how it was with the stock speakers.
Bottom line: If the stock RSX HU's power output is anything like my OEM Integra's HU, you won't be utilizing the full potential of those speakers.

If you spend alot of money on speakers, it's pointless unless you're willing to go the rest of the distance and get the proper cabling and hardware to fully power them. They may sound a little bit better than your stock setup without an amp but I'm sure you could have had the same effect with some speakers at 1/3 of their price of the Infinity's that you bought.

Remember, the RSX Type-S has the Bose system, so it's the Bose amp putting out the power, not the factory head unit.
