Default 98 civic header on CRX, fitment?

I bought a 4-1 DC header off a guy from a 98 civic ex coupe and i want to put it on my crx. Ive put a 4-2-1 header on a crx that was made for a crx and when i put that on i had to notch the crossmember quite a bit to get it on there. So what im asking is will i have any problems fitting this header on teh crx. Is it gonna be too long and will i have to cut up my exhaust, and do u have to butcher up the crossmember to get a 4-1 to fit on it? TIA.

it will fit. notch the crossmember more.

you shouldn't of had to notch it for a 4-2-1, unless it was a 1 piece and you tried to put it on without dropping the crossmember..

you coudl've just taken the front cross member down and bolted the header right up... the 2 piece 4-2-1 header for civics clears the cross member easily, and it has the large flange bolting the downpipe to the header.

how much of a job is it to drop the crossmember? will it be beneficial to do this when intsalling the 4-1?

take out 8 bolts. 4 in teh front, 2 attached to each radius arm. you'll most likely have to take the cross member out to get the 4-1 header installed. with a D series, bash crossmember in a little, should fit fine.
