Default 00Si Intake cam/ 98 ITR exhaust cam....turbo setup/opinions

I had this setup on my JRSC, as suggested by a pretty well known tuner who had ran it on his car at high boost and it seemed to make power all over the place especially on the top end. (which usually JRSC isnt known for). Cam gears are set at 0 intake and -2 exhaust.

Now i have gone turbo and the cam gears are still set the same as well as the same cam setup.

It seems a little boggy now below like 2500 and it seems like there is a BIG *** overlap, where there wasnt one before.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm not 100%, as i haven't tried that combo, but usually you want a bigger cam on the intake and smaller on the exhaust with forced induction. I'd try the opposite of what you want to do, itr intake and si exhaust...

Good idea if i knew where in the heck i put the itr intake and the si exhaust cam....

I was wondering if there was a simple way to dial out the overlap and test it. Because i would image at 0, and -2 i have way too much overlap.

I could be wrong..

No the -2 is dialing out the overlap back to almost a stock GSR. One or two more degrees would even you out. Though, I would take tony's advice first.

One or 2 degrees which way on what cam? After doing a couple of searches and such, i have seen that most people will advance the exhaust cam and retard the intake cam.... im wondering the differance in the lift and duration of my cam setup vs. Si's and ITr's. It just seems so boggy in the midrange.

Any suggestions?

If you want to reduce your overlap you need to advance the exhaust cam try 2 degrees. I assume -2 means retarded in which case you would have more overlap not less. Start there, I would still try to get an intake cam, it should flow more air volume which is what you want.

Right I think that I'm going to try still find one. I just wanted to try to dial out the overlap some this weekend.

To confirm yes the intake (Si) is setting at at 0 and the exhuast (itr) is at -2 degrees right now.

Now that's an idea. Increased cam lift of the ITR cam, but with only minimal overlap of the SI exhaust cam.
