Default Anyone with ep3s have this problem?

Does anyone grind their transmission when shifting from 2nd to 3rd all the time? It just started happening to me at 20K. Any ideas of what it could be?

It's a common problem with our cars. Just take it in to the dealer and let them know. They should fix the tranny under warranty.

Thanks guys. I'm having it checked tomorrow. Wish me luck. My Honda likes to cry abuse whenever my car has a problem.

uhhh yeah, I have 30,000 on mine, its been grinding since 5,000 miles...I got kicked off Ephatch.com for this crap...a guy kept on writing stupid crap about me not knowing how to drive...one thing led to another and i was banned hahahha

well to say the least i have been to my dealership 5 times, and even left my car with em for 5 days, they consistantly say there is NO problem..

Oh my brother has a type s and aready had the tranny COMPLETELY fail on him...they warrant'd it and 4 days later he was hit at a shell gas station...his car is going to be fixed

I am a tech at honda. All they will do is put in new synchros there at the shop. I got to do mine too soon, but I am the warranty. Got 5000 on mine too. Will do mine in the next couple weeks.

Eh..no grinds for me after changing the way I hold the shifter. I hold it from the top now and it shifts with no problems whatsoever (unless its cold of course)

Well i went ahead, and pulled the tranny today. Was on my way to work, and it would not go into first gear at a redlight. Found a bulletin that says there is not enough lubrication on the clutch plate splines. So i decided to go ahead and replace the synchroes while i hade it out.

I dropped it off 12/14 for early monday morning so they could work on it first thing. They rebuilt the transmission at 19K. They broke my ball joints and had to replace them. They broke 2 bolts on the transmission. Now they broke a knuckle? whatever that is, can someone please explain?. I didn't get a rental until last friday 12/19 and it expired monday 12/22 at 4PM. I called the manager and he said it should be done tomorrow don't worry about it.

So i call today and they said the manager and the whole service team took off!?! I asked about tomorrow and she said they may even take off the rest of the week.

Now does everyone understand my situation? Do i have a lemon law case? Should I complain to American Honda?I love my ep and now i might not have it for christmas. Happy holidays everyone

My buddy had an 02 Si and he went through two trasmissions. Long story short, he's got an 03 now and hasn't had the problems, I believe.

Should've tried changing the tranny fluid out first to see if that helped.

Crap, my 2nd gear does not go in as smoothly as the rest of my gears. Always worries me. There has got to be a definite fix for this problem. If not, I am dumping my ep

I just got my 02 EP and everything is fine. (Knocks on wood....)

With 15K on the odometer, this sounds like a good reason to kick the crap out of the tranny, and see if it fails.

I took my car in on monday...they still havnt gotten to it though. I have been to the dealership where i purchased the car 5 times...know i go to my local dealership and they take it right in...maybe because i contacted american honda and honda usa contacted my local dealership? Well they are most likely gonna fix her under warranty.....on another topic....I changed my tranny fluid first and it still didnt make a difference. that was 5,000 miles ago

i will keep you guys updated....

and on the synchro question.....they DIDNT change the part.
