Header fitment for B Series swap in 91 CRX
I was wondering which brands of header's some of you are using in your EF with B series swaps? I have a 91 CRX DX with 96 B18B1 and 92 GSR YS1 cable tranny using the HASport billet mounts. I also have the HASport A/C bracket with working A/C so the space it's pretty tight, even with the stock LS exhaust manifold.
I am looking to upgrade to a decent 4-2-1 header - probably DC Sports, RS-R, etc. I definitely don't want to purchase an aftermarket front cross member or take off the A/C since the car is a daily driver. Any suggestions as to what will/will not work?

Good luck getting a header to fit with a/c. You might want to try and fit a pusher fan in front of the a/c condensor \. what I had to do to fit my Comptech 4-2-1 header is get a Place racing crossmember with a 92+ civic half sized radiator witha slim FAL fan and a slim fan for the condensor. Still a little bit of a squeeze but it works.

If I were you, do what I did and buy a JDM B16A header. They are rare, but if you look hard enough you'll find one. We had a race motor come in from Japan with an old school 1st gen spoon header, with JASMA certifcation, provsions for both o2 sensors, and both the mounting points in the front of the block and the rear hanger mount lined up 100%.
I'm running a 89 CRX SI with B16 with a/c, and hasport mount kit, the header clears everything, no problem!

i have a b18c in my hf and i kept my stock radiator and ac and i used a 4-2-1 dc sports and it fits fine. To install you justhave to remove crossmember or put it on while you drop the motor in. its a piece of cake. I know for sure the 4-1 doesnt fit.
Go with a factory B16A header and plug up one of the O2 sensor holes. Either that or go with a factory GSR/LS header and you should be good to go.

I have tried this on my Civic HB. And from what I have seen, this will work as long as you (1) use the Hasport kit and not the Place Racing kit, and (2) go for nothing more radical than a DC 4-2-1. Don't expect this to work if you are using a Place Racing kit (it places the engine too far foreward) or a more radical header (like ANY 4-1 header).

So most of the standard 4-2-1 design headers will work? That's what I was leaning toward since the design is close to a stock manifold. I figured the DC 4-1 and some of the others wouldn't even come close since the primaries come out too far before curving downward. As it sets right now with the stock LS exhaust manifold, I'm about 1/2" or less from the fan, it's really a tight fit!
