Dynoed the RSX-S
I dynoed my RSX-S....i have I/H/E Hondata#4.....now could anyone explain why i only dynoed at 174.95 and 131.53....why???????....i should almost be at 200....what is wrong? They tell me its because the check engine light is on, and i just got the jackson race header yesterday, i'm just very dissappointed and wondering whats going on, b/c i know that this is not right can anyone help me?....Thanks
perhaps yu were on a mustang dyno. you'll get lower numbers if you were, if thats the case then add 16% to hp. tq i dunno about, when i put my si on a mustang tq=400.
well first off, what is your CEL on for?
it could be something major. and that is most likely causing your weak *** HP #'s
you should have a little over 200

it was because of the jackson racing header....its the no cat....thats why the cel is on.......i bought an o2 simulator from http://www.casperselectronics.com and the CEL light hasn't come off...i'm thinking that its b/c of the CEL and the computer is all messed up and it needs to learn whats going on....thats why my dyno was probably shitty!
and caspers's says that it takes about 200 miles of driving for the o2 simulator to learn whats going on.....so maybe that could be it?

i was down at modacar today dyoning my buddy's altima and I talked to one of the guys there....he said he dynoed a bout 7 or so RSX's and the highest output he got out of one was 175 WHP...so I am also begining to speculate my butt dyno is way off!!! This rsx apparently also had bolt ons + hondata #4. Now Im scared to go to the dyno too

Well since you have the casper sim, you should be fine with your race header. Try this. unplug you battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnect it and let the computer re learn whats on it and how to adjust to the new power. This should imporve your numbers a bit. And no don't believe that built on monday or friday ****.
Just do what I told you and see how it goes. Also since you have the cel on it should turn off. I take it you got the cel first them you installed the sim right? If so do the steps I told you and the CEL will be gone. Good luck bro.

yeah do what he said, but if your CEL came on before you installed your race header, there should be a problem somewhere else, try connecting a scanner if you can borrow one, and youll be able to know what your problem is

the cel for he o2 sensor would not efffect peak numbers. It will put the ecu in closed loop mode and uner WOT this is hoe the ECU reacts anyhow, Under WOT the stock ecu is not paying much attention to O2 readings. It would however effect part throttle driveability b/c then the ecu runs in open loop and is constantly adjusting to inputs from things like the o2 sensor and what not. Was sufficient fuel added to support the mods with hondata. What fuel pressure? How much timing did you give it. Let me know i am curious now.
you dynoed low because your car is in limp mode. with the cel is on the engine goes into limp mode to protect itself. and there is no need to pull the neg for 10 min.
pull teh ecu fuse for no less then 15 seconds. replcae the ecu and start it up. get the cel cleared and u should be just about 202 whp depending on dyno and situations

dynoing with a CEL on isn't a good idea. also did they rev to at least 8000? hp will be low if they cut the run early
I'm currently at 190-194 HP and 138 TQ dynojet with I/E/Hondata, you should do a little higher than that (every dyno machine is a little different though)
here's a formula to estimate HP. get your car weighed (with you in it) and get some 1/4 time slips. you'll be surprised how accurate it is
whp = weight / (ET / 5.825)^3

no i didn't have a CEL before the headers, the CEL came on after installing the headers and the O2 sim.
And my dad has an OBDII scanner....so will be finding out tom.
