Can i talk this dealer down to 10k cash? Link with details, and pics of car inside.
I am looking into purchasing a 1997 honda prelude base model. The dealer is asking $11,995 for the car, and i am only wanting to pay 10k cash... Do you think i can talk them down that low? Heres the link of the car, and all the information on it. Thanks ahead of time. Car is in great shape by the way.

Looks like a VERY nice Prelude. You can always try. If you get it for $10k, then you got a steal of a deal. Leather interior > Cloth.
Wow Preludes are really going down in price.....to think my 95 Prelude VTEC cost $15k back in 2000 with 65k miles.
i believe that that car is only worth about 8500 if you are a good buyer and all.
Look at the mileage.
I sell you mine which is automatic
with 54800 for 10k cash.

this is what i would do if i were you.
1- get approved for 11k from your bank.
2- take your pre approved loan check to the dealer.
3- put it on the table in front of the dealer.
4- say $11,000 for the Prelude, OUT THE DOOR. (TT&L + CAR)
if he says no... WALK
if he says yes...

thanks for all the opinions, anyone else? I am going in on wednesday with the 10k cash, but the dealership is 2 hours from my house so i don't really want to waste the time driving there 2 hours and 2 hours back for nothing.
I just contacted the dealer again, and put a price of $9,500 cash on the table. He downed that but then told me he could take $10,500 as the lowest possible price. What are your guys' opinions on that price? Car is very very clean. Ive seen it in person.

offer him 8500 plus all the documentation. No more, believe me, you can get this if you are into it. Say this: "listen here, i have 9500 in my hand and that is what i cand do right now, so, take it or leave it" they'll suck your dick to come quickly and get the car. They are bitches when it comes to selling for cash in the right amount, so go ahead and let them know who has the last word -> YOU.
Thanks everyone. Im going in on Wednesday with $9,500 and saying take it or leave it. Havent really ever ventured onto the prelude forums, usually stayed on the teg forums. But everyone here seems really nice. Ill post up my own pics of the car when i get it.
