Default Gingerman Raceway on October 8th

Hey all,

Anyone coming up to Gingerman Raceway on October 8th for the CGI Motorsports event? It is the last of the year so get your driving aggressions out now before the long, cold winter!!

I'll be there with some non-R friends. Would be nice if we had some more R's there!

I hear ya! I am in buying a house next week so $$$ is VERY scarce right now. Luckily, my friend is paying my admission with the understanding that I will get him back next year!

On the 6th and 7th I'll be at Grattan with Lotus/Auto Europe. If any one is interested email you fax # to me I don't think there is a link anywhere. $100 per day

Both are fun. Here's my advice:

1. If you've never done any track events, or you've only done one or two, do GingerMan. GingerMan is much easier to learn, and if you don't have much experience, a tough track is a lot to deal with on top of learning what you're supposed to be doing on a track.

2. If you've done several track events and you've already been to GingerMan, THEN consider doing Grattan.

The reason Grattan is so tough is that a lot of its turns are BLIND. That means you can't see where you're going, and you've got to turn in on faith. Some of them are off camber. So it's very difficult to get the hang of this track. But it's also lots of fun. Of all the tracks I've driven, it's the most likely to make you puke.

Other considerations: GingerMan has hotels five minutes away, at Grattan they're 25 minutes away. Lots of restaurants around the hotels in each case. For lunchtime, the food at GingerMan is all right - not great, not terrible, or you can go down the road to the restaurants. At Grattan, the food is REALLY DREADFUL, and you have to drive quite a distance to get to anyplace to eat.
