Default Which 6-1/2 front speakers fit a civic without cutting the basket?

i bought pioneer 3-way speakers for my front but noticed that i had to cut the basket on the door panels for it to fit. supposedly they're "oversized to fit GM vehicles." that's what some guy at a stereo shop told me. well, i want something to put in the front without any cutting. any suggestions? i mainly want 3 way. post which manufacturer you bought...model number would be great.

I attached a 3/4" spacer to the basket, but then the speakers are awfully close to the door panel.

3 way speakers have a bigger magnet. You can try some 2 way speakers that have a smaller magnet which should fit.

I have some JBL 3-way 6.5 in speakers and I had to force my speakers into the brasket if I recall. It been a long time.

I think you'd have to go with 5.25" with some ring around it to clear the magnet. There are very few 6.5"s that will fit due to all the magnets being fairly large. Even my tiny MB Quart magnets were too deep.

Cut the door, don't be skuuurd!

Use 6 inch speakers, JL Audio TR 600CXi are very nice so are the eclipse 3 ways, should fit fine, plus they sound alot better then the pioneers.

I had these in my EK for a long time, I would have perfered to go with a larger speaker however the factory grille would not go back on. I built some different panels out of carbon fiber for my Focals.

The Eclipse THree ways will fit with out cutting (model number SE8363). I am not positive on the JL Audio speakers. However if you did cut out the back the speakers will sound alot better, will get alot more mid bass out of them.

the only purpose of the basket is to keep off any water that gets down past the window seal. I cut them all the time.
