how much does it normally cost to ship a head? don't know where this belong but i've seen people post pricing questions in here before. please move if necessary.

 

Like $30-$40 USPS not sure about UPS

are you guys speaking of experience? my friend shipped a AC bracket from USPS today and it cost him $20.

 

You can find out rates on shipping from fedex.com and ups.com by entering in the dimensions of the box and the weight. I shipped a block via ups to NY for $60 so a head will be less.

 

I had a head sent to me (sohc a6) and it costed the guy about $26 to ship it to me. and how I knew is because he also did it through USPS and they put the postage cost on their sticker.

I just sent out an auto tranny and it costed me about $60 to ship it from WI to FL and it weighed 120lbs

 

its best to ship big light or any light things through USPS and and any heavy objects through UPS

Well for me its cheaper I found to send through fedex over ups. That tranny I sent out would have been about $70 for me to ship it ups and was only about $60 through fedex as I said above.

 

I paid like 35 bux at the mail box ect ups store. Which used UPS ground and included packaging and box charges. It was a D16a6 complete head with the intake manifold, valve cover and head bolts. HTH

 

a SOHC weighs less then a DOHC and it's $35? DOHC should be a little more then.
