Default high pitch noise from air filter on AEM CAI

Just installed my aem cai (used) tonight, everything is great but there seems to be a high pitched (sorta) sound coming from the area of the air filter at idle and on revs. Help? could this be dangerous?

There are reported noises with just about any intake...

"whoosing, whistling, turbo-like spool, air-like sucking..."

Don't assume that this is a leak...

This is normal in most cases; I assume it only happens when your on the throttle, at around 2-3.5K rpms, correct? If it sounds like any of the above, then you shouldn't worry too much.

thats why i'm sort of worried, could the filter be loose? which would cause a whistle which would in turn allow for unfiltered air to enter?

Stupid question...does it have a bypass valve. I've heard that bypass vavles whistle. It's normal for bypass valve

the whistle and 'turbo' like noises are normal. I've had several different CAI's on my Teggy including a AEM V1 and V2 and some cheapo no nammers and they all have a whistle and if you've never had a CAI, its definetly differen't Just check ur clamps and make sure everythings tight and your good to go!

Its unnecessary to reset it as the ECU will adjust itself eventually. The ECU will not reset itself, but will adapt to the changes, IE: more volume of air into the engine.

alright so i guess i'll disregard the sound, i just thought of it as odd because the whisteling can be heard from a good 10 feet away from the car when its just sitting there idle.

the idle "whirring" is normal, and so is the whistle while driving.

yea i've got a AEM CAI and i get the "whoosing, whistling, turbo-like spool, air-like sucking..." noises.
i get the deep throaty kind of sound in lower rpm, the really loud higher pitched sounds @ higher rpm, and also i get a really high pitched sound between 6k and 7k rpm.
my intake is all good, every thin is connected securely and **** like that.........
so it's all norm

just check and see if there are any loose clamps, or even a hole that some people acquire on their intake from rubbing near the air filter....but seeing as how you just installed it....you should be fine...just recheck all clamps...if everything is tight...your alright.

the whistling come from the larger diameter filter connecting to the aem cai, where the cai tube has that little "ring" at the end so ur filter doesnt come off. take off the filter and it wont make the wistle noise from 1000K-2500K half throttle accel. but then u wont have a filter. i did some "minor" mods the the end tube where that ring used to be, no whistling any more

So you're saying, that OBD1 computers will never adjust itself?
