Default NO sound Can anyone help?

I just got a beater 92 hatch just to dick around with and i took an old sony cd player and tried to hook it up.... whoever had the car before took the idoitic cheap way out and cut off the stock harness now heres my problem... my cd players getting power... everything works but its not getting any sound what soever .. i tested to see if the speakers were just messed up but thats not the case... does any one know what this could be becuase im stumped

Any of the speakers grounded out, most newer decks have a circuit to protect the amplifier against shorting, try disconnecting one speaker at a time with the deck on and see when it starts playing, then youll know which speaker is the culprit

well heres the problem ... all the sudden it started working
its started out just the left speaker and as i turned it up the right kicked in but then when i turned my car off and now it doesnt work... there is a blue wire with a white stripe coming from my cd player harness that im not sure what to do with ... im lost can you help?

the blue wire with the white stripe on it is a remote turn on lead meaning that when u turn on the radio and u have the wire connected to an amp the amp turns on. also the remote wire is used for the power antenna in some cars/trucks. hope this helps

also make sure the radio is grounded, a good place for a ground is the area where the radio sleave mounts inside the pocket
