Default obd1 conversion distributor wire colors? No start also

I just did my obd 1 conversion on a b16a in a crx with a hondata p28

I need to know what pins the colored wires on the obd1 distributor go to on a obd0 plug. (I think I wired some of them wrong)

I just went to fire everything up and I have no spark, and my distributor is very hot, is that normal? When I stoped cranking wile checking for spark I saw sparks on the battery terminals something is really wrong. I need a moment......

What does everyone think or what should I check ?

Thanks, Jack

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by bossman032 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">colors match up.

but if it don't start switch the two white wires </TD></TR></TABLE>

I think I remember this being correct, one of the white wires is a little thicker than the other, match the 2 thicker wires up. Good luck!

I do not think I matched them correctly. I have a diagram that I made but not sure about it. I'll check the two white and let you know? The distributor may be burned already.

You can match colors at the distributer plug ONLY if you also match up colors at the ECU plugs. And this only goes for the smaller wires. Not the larger white (1988-1991) and yellow/green (1992+) wires. These two wires need to be connected to each other. The main problem with this is that most people don't wire up the ECU plugs themselves. They typically buy adaptor harnesses. And if you use an adaptor harness, there is a good chance the maker of it connected the wires by sensor and not by color. So if you bought an adaptor harness, take a look at the distributer wires on it (by checking the ECU pinout). See which color wire it connects to on the dash harness. Find this color on the engine harness. And connect it to the color corresponding to the color of the wire on the adaptor. For instance, if the orange wire on the adaptor harness connects to a blue/yellow wire on the dash harness (I am only using this as an example. I don't know if this is the way it is off the top of my head), connect the blue/yellow wire on the engine harness to the orange wire on the distributer. So match the ECU plug colors to the distributer plug colors. Even if the color of the wire in between is different.

just did my obd 0 - obd 1 dizzy plug swap today and worked like a charm. only stumbling point was the two white wires on the obd 0 harness..i saved those for last since i wasnt sure how to plug 'em up but i had a 50/50 chance of doing it right since there were only 2 possible wires off the obd 1 plugs to connect them to (one of them went to the yellow w/ green stripe wire).

gotta bump this up

I have a 91 crx that i'm converting to obd1 using a p28. I bought a jdm concepts conversion harness, but all the wires on it are black. I bought an obd1 dizzy with obd0 plugs on it. The big round obd1 plug has all black wires and one yellow.

CAr wont start, no spark. How can i go from here and trouble shoot the wiring?
