Has anyone used slick 50?
Does it really do anything? Ive heard so much stuff, about "changing the material surface of the moving parts, but thats it. Is that bad?
I have read (perhaps from unreliable sources?) that Slick 50 does nothing for an engine except perhaps clog the oil passages to the filter.
Just get some Mobil 1 and be done with it. No fancy addatives or treatments. Mobil 1.

slick 50 is for engines with over 50,000 miles on them - the high mileage stuff is for engines with i think over 75,000 miles on them. how many miles are on your engine? and how is it running? any noises or problems? if not, then just change to the mobil one, like suggested. the slick 50 is supposedly designed to help the pinging quiet down, and seal the engine parts better. i gave it a try in my crx (165,000 miles on it) and i didn't notice a difference. but i think my engine was in desperate need of a makeover anyway.
I used to dump oil additive in my old 86 hatch. It actually smoothed out the idle noticibly each time i used it. But then again, my motor was totally worn out. Burnt oil, leaky headgasket, etc.
Thanks for the help guys,
I used about 2/3 of it already. Not sure it's doing anything. I only suggested it because I lost a little oil the other day when my valvecover gasket went bad
I wanted to replace the lost oil and thought why don't I give it a try? Could'nt hurt

It helps to clear out deposits from old nasty oil.....My engine has 43,000 miles and I just put it in with 3 qts of Mobil 1!!! It does do something!!!!
