Default 5th gen Shock Knock - How do you fix it?

I have a 1999 Prelude and have the annoying "shock knock" (coming from the rear passenger area). I've done a search on the web for a fix, which always led to the same source for the solution to this problem, however the link is now dead. So I was wondering if someone here knows how to fix it and can describe the process.

Thanks in advance

If it's really shock knock, Honda's fix is to replace the spacers under the strut hat with ones that are 2mm shorter. Original are 39mm, replacements are 37mm. Should be easy to trim the originals to that length, but still requires you pulling the strut(s) and taking them apart to get at the spacer.
