Whats the tension or slack for the H22 timing belt?
My timing belt seems alittle bit loose, the slack on it is about 1/2inch is this normal or should it be tighter? Also how would I go about on tighting the timing belt, I also have the h23 tensioner installed.
Well since the H22 uses an Autotensioner (
), i dont know if there is a set tension for the belt. I would have to look at my helms...but u could always find someone who has an Autotensioner (
) installed and check the tension it applies.

Yeah but on a H22. I was suggesting finding someone who is doing some type of work with their timming belt with an autotensioner installed. Then see how much tension is aplied to the belt with the autotensioner. Then he would know what to tension his belt too but with the H23 manual tensioner.

the manual tensioner uses the a spring to set tension, lossen the nut that sticks through the cover (you might have to take the cover of on the h22 depending on how you did the swap) once the nut is loose the spring should take up the slack
how the hell did u get a h23 timing belt tensioner on a h22!
i did a h23vtec and found that a h22 head is taller and have a smaller timing belt tensioner / also when u swap timing belt tensioner u have to swap the whole unit thets brackets and etc. (that means u can t just swap pulleys)
when i used the h23 tensioner theres not enuff room to install the timing belt (evening when prying on the belt with a screw driver)so i end up installing a new h22 tensioner
