Do I see clear corners??? I think I'd ask the seller what he had on it, then offer 15,000 and see if he'll meet you somewhere in between.

Carfax reported two accidents - the seller explained that the previous owner got rear ended twice, and provided the name of the body shop that made the repairs. I will follow up with the shop tomorrow to verify what was done....

I'm thinking more along the lines of $15,000 right now, depending upon what the shop says. But even so, if they were just minor accidents that didn't extend further than the bumper and rear valence and all repairs were in good order then I'd still be up for it. It makes me cringe to think about the carfax on my car.

Bah.....clear corners should take at least 1000 off the price tag!
Yeah checking with the bodyshop is a good idea. You never know how hard it was hit. There are some rear end accidents, like the one I was involved in, where barely anything happened. Just the bumper cover was damaged.
I guess it depends on what it was hit by. When I got out of my car, the girls bumper was under mine. LOL

IMO a bit high, but everyone asks more than what they expect to get. Like others said I wouldn't offer more than 15K. Def look into how severe the damage was. Also there are lots of others out there.
I think Jones' car is a better deal:

Granted the mileage is higher, but at least I can guarantee that it has NEVER been in an accident before and the car has been well taken care of.

neither did my first one when i bought it.. come to think of it, my second one technically didn't either - it was sitting in the car..
Not bad, overall.. I'd say it's probably worth about 15,500 - 15,800 overall.. mostly depending on what the bodyshop says..

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with the body shop. The girl that processes the paperwork does not remember the name or the car, and has been working there for 3 years, and cant find any records of the car.
This is way too much hasssle to get the car's history. IMO, the seller should know that this is on the carfax report and already have copies of the paperwork available.

sorry that was the info that the owner gave me, I've told you the history of
the car I apologize if you don't believe me. I can't give out other people's
information. The R is not his anymore nor his responsibility its mine. I
have explained the car's history, I don't know what else to do for you. I
appreciate where you coming from but I can't give out other people info so I
apologize. I'm entertaining a couple of different offers from local buyers
who have seen the car so I will be selling soon. The car is in excellent
condition, I'm pretty firm in my price but I'll extend the same offer to you
where I'll purchase a ITR lip to be included with the car. Sorry for any
inconvenience.</TD></TR></TABLE>

another point to ponder, if the wrecks were "just the bumper cover" then the repair would have been done out of pocket (cheaper than the deductible in most cases) and not shown up on the carfax
